When your AI Assistant was closed

The AI Assistant was closed — either by you, by the operating system, or because it restarted.

What to do:

  1. Reopen your AI Assistant.
  2. Sidekick will reconnect on its own.

If you didn’t close it yourself, it may have shut down due to an update or a system event — reopening it should fix it.

Less common cause: if reopening your AI Assistant doesn’t help and you keep seeing this message, another app on your computer might be using port 6001 — the network port Sidekick relies on — and refusing connections. Restarting your computer is the simplest fix; if that’s not an option, contact support and we can help you identify the culprit.
