Download and double-click to install. Claude will automatically connect to InDesign.
Double-clicking didn't open Claude Desktop?
If Claude Desktop doesn't open when you double-click the .mcpb file, you can install manually:
- Open Claude Desktop
- Go to Settings (gear icon) → Advanced Settings
- Click Install Extension and select the downloaded
.mcpbfile
1. Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded installer and follow the prompts.
I got a "Windows protected your PC" message
Our installers aren't signed yet, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning. To proceed:
- Click More info
- Click Run anyway
2. Verify installation
Open a terminal and run:
indesign-sidekick3. Configure your MCP client
Follow your tool's instructions to add an MCP server. Point it to indesign-sidekick start.
