Privacy and admin

Where your document goes, compared with Adobe’s own AI Assistant, and what an administrator may need to do.

Where your document goes

  • Your document isn’t uploaded anywhere.

The InDesign file stays on your computer. Your assistant only sends what it reads to your AI provider: a passage, or a picture of a page.

  • You choose the model.

Use the assistant and the model you like, so what it reads goes to a company you chose, on its terms. Adobe’s AI Assistant picks one for you: GPT 5.2 or Claude Sonnet 4.6 (Adobe’s page on partner models, October 2026).

  • Your design never passes through Adobe, or through us.

Sidekick runs on your computer, and what your assistant reads goes straight to your AI provider. All we get are the reports described below.

What you type goes to your AI provider too, the same as anything else you ask it. We get anonymous usage counts and error reports. An error report includes the start of the code that failed, which can quote a line of your text, but never the document itself. Ask your assistant to “disable Sidekick telemetry” to switch them off. Apart from those reports, Sidekick only contacts us to check for and download updates. Read the privacy policy
